The Project at a Glance
We partnered with Toki Studio, a creative agency specializing in visual storytelling, to develop a modern, full-stack portfolio website that reflects their dynamic design identity. The site was built using React for the frontend and Express for the backend, with MongoDB for persistent storage. To ensure ease of content management, we integrated Sanity.io CMS, allowing the team to easily publish and update blogs, case studies, and team content. Visually, the website stands out through smooth animations and a rich UI experience powered by MagicUI, shadcn components, and Three.js.
The Challenge
Toki Studio needed a website that could keep pace with their high-caliber design work — visually engaging, easily manageable, and technically robust. Their previous platform lacked CMS capabilities, requiring manual content updates that slowed down publishing. They also lacked backend APIs to support contact form submissions or structured blog/case study management.
From a performance standpoint, the older site was bloated with unnecessary scripts and offered poor mobile responsiveness, which hurt SEO and user engagement. Additionally, they needed a system that could scale with their expanding content portfolio while maintaining a consistent visual and brand identity.
Our Solution
We built a fully custom website using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) combined with Sanity.io as the headless CMS. The frontend was engineered with reusable shadcn UI components and MagicUI to enable immersive transitions, animations, and design flourishes without sacrificing performance.
We reduced processing time by 65% through route-level code splitting, component-level lazy loading, and optimized state management. MongoDB was used to persist structured data like blog entries, case studies, and contact form submissions. SEO optimization techniques — including meta tag control, OpenGraph integration, and semantic markup — improved search visibility.
